- Abstract
The authors reflect on the results of the study by N. H. Khan and colleagues on administering corticosteroids in newly diagnosed ulcerative colitis. They discuss how the study was conducted which was conducted between 2001 to 2011 and involved 1,035 veterans in the U.S. The results reportedly revealed a threefold increase in the probability of colectomy in patients who received corticosteroids within one month of diagnosis.
