- Abstract
The author discusses the relevance of the novel the "Adventures of Huck Finn" by Mark Twain for the high school English classrooms as it contains racist words. It focuses on an English Journal article, “The Case for Conflict," from 2008 in which the author Mary Ellen Dakin mentioned one's lived experiences regarding the teaching of Huck Finn. It also presents the views of the award-winning Nigerian novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie on the same.
