- Abstract
A spinning vortex is considered in the context of the braneworld. We numerically analyze the profiles of a stationary solution in a 6D U(1) gauge theory, and clarify their dependence on the angular velocity in the field space $\omega$$ . We find that there is an upper limit on $\omega$$ , and the vortex configuration should be parametrized by the angular momentum rather than $\omega$$ . We also discuss matter modes localized on the vortex. We show that the vortex spin mixes the Kaluza–Klein (KK) masses and induces nonvanishing masses to the zero-modes. It also resolves the degeneracy in the KK spectrum that the static vortex had.
