The article offers marine science updates from the Northeast Pacific Ocean as of late summer 2013. The west coast waters from Oregon to Alaska warmed by several degrees after almost seven years of cool sea surface temperature, bringing unusual marine life like Corolla spectabilis to the continental margin. It also notes an unusually warm near-surface temperature off southwest Vancouver Island. A list of 2014 science meetings of interest to scientists working in the Bering Sea is presented.
