- Abstract
This article, published in the Journal of Cancer, examines the safety and outcomes of simultaneous resection for colorectal cancer and liver metastases. The study included twenty patients who underwent laparoscopic resection of both primary colorectal cancer and liver metastases. The patients were divided into two groups based on the order of surgery. The study found that there was no significant difference in outcomes between the two groups, except for a lower operative blood loss in the group that had liver resection first. The article concludes that simultaneous resection is a feasible option with low postoperative complications.
