- Title
THE SST, THE ENVIRONMENT, AND THE CREDIBILITY GAP.
- Authors
WILLIAMSON, FRANCIS S. L.
- Abstract
The author reflects on the production of the supersonic transport (SST) in the U.S. He asserts that there is a credibility gap when embarking SST program as a potential global threat, allowing it to be regulated by those whose interest is in favorable trade balance, and stating that pollution of the air is our most serious environmental problem. He inflects that the development of the SST conflicts with the basic philosophy behind the establishment of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
