The article presents a study on the specie composition of large woody debris in Queets River, Washington which are crossdated against riparian conifers to determine the year of its recruitment in the river channel. The rapid rate of depletion and harvesting large conifers from the riparian zones are found to have an adverse impact in three to five decades.
