- Abstract
OVERVIEW Ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunt insertion is a commonly performed procedure for the treatment of hydrocephalus. Multiple early and late complications are associated with VP shunt insertions. We report on a case of a late sigmoid perforation and transanal migration of a VP shunt in an immunocompromised host. We also discuss the management and treatment options for this uncommon complication.
