- Abstract
Over the past two decades laparoscopic surgery has moved from an experimental technique to an approach preferred by many surgeons in the treatment of certain gynecological cancers. In this study we performed a retrospective analysis of 33 cases of laparoscopic hysterectomy operated in Hospital Erasto Gaertner, Curitiba-PR, from January 1990 to May 2011, evaluating the indications, the average age of patients, histopathology of the specimens, the surgical time, the average time of hospitalization, complications (intra-and postoperative) and the rate of conversion to open surgery. All hysterectomies in this study were laparoscopic extra-fascial with vaginal dome closure. Analysing the proposed items, we obtain results similar to the literature.
