- Abstract
The article examines the concept of indigenous cosmopolitanism as depicted in several literary works. It discusses several examples of indigenous cosmopolitanism, including one described in the Cree writer Tomson Highway's novel "Kiss of the Fur Queen" which tackles the relationship between a defamiliarization mechanism and religious belief. It also examines how various versions of indigenous cosmopolitanism can change conceptualizations of globalism.
