- Abstract
The article presents a study on the effects of vitamin D on insulin resistance in patients with stage three chronic kidney disease (CKD). The study included 37 non-diabetic CKD patients and treated them with dietary phosphorous restriction, calcium supplements, and 1-alpha-hydroxyvitamin D3. It found that insulin and plasma levels were comparable before (T0) and after (T1) vitamin D treatment, though T0 had higher mean oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) levels.
