- Abstract
The article discusses the significance of the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995 in the U.S. trade regulation. It notes the abusive litigation practices which triggers the establishment of such law. The law was designed to make changes on the pleading standards, liability, discovery, liability of cases to limit frivolous securities lawsuits. Meanwhile, it emphasizes the role of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in effectively deterring and punishing securities fraud.
