- Abstract
The article discusses the cellular mechanism of bone loss in a Brtl mouse model for osteogenesis imperfecta and an imbalance in osteoblast function, osteoclasts, and their precursors. The conclusion is that osteoclasts and osteoblasts are not synchronized in the Brtl femurs, which leads to a reduction of BFR during aging, an increase in RANK-expressing precursors, and the generation of more osteoclasts and bone resorption.
