- Abstract
The article presents an economic analysis of the land use and greenhouse gas mitigation effects of federal biofuel incentive schemes in the U.S. Such policies include the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS), the Biomass Crop Assistance Program (BCAP), and the biofuel tax credits. It analyzes the significance of the subsidies for fuel prices and consumption and investigates the effects undermining the energy security and greenhouse gases reduction benefits.
