The recent prospective cohort study by Zhu I et al. i [1] suggested that total bone mineral density (BMD) may be an independent risk factor for stroke, especially in men. Additionally, although we all know that BMD reduction and stroke are major age-related, the above two studies lack the analysis of the relationship between BMD and stroke in different age groups.
