- Abstract
The author discusses the importance of ethical integrity in managing drug shortages. The ethical issues arising while managing drug shortages, include product allocation in scarce supply, the appropriateness of purchasing from the gray market and hoarding of medications. He states that developing and maintaining a focus on the needs of all patients, not just those who happen to enter our own institution, are essential to acting with ethical integrity.
