Pauser, Josef
- Abstract
The article presents a look at the concept of bibliophile, or fool for books, as represented in the book "Centri-Folium stultorum", an 18th century satirical book about 100 types of fools attributed to a well-known preacher of the court. The bibliophile is pictured as someone who thinks of himself as highly educated because of his book collecting. Included in the article are photocopied pages from the book and references to modern authors, such as Robert Musil, who wrote on the subject.
