- Abstract
The article discusses strategic alternatives in the study about the annual cohort of births in a technologically underdeveloped community. It discusses three strategies of research to clarify the causal factors and the consequences associated with the most common variety of human malnutrition. These strategies are the deprivation model, the intervention model, and the natural history or ecologic model. The article investigates case studies concerning these models, the comparison of populations, and the analysis of conditions of risk and of replacement and rehabilitation.
