- Abstract
In an article published in Advanced Functional Materials, Natalie Artzi and her colleagues demonstrate the use of engineered polymeric microneedles to collect biomarkers in the skin interstitial fluid in response to melanoma treatment. The researchers combined focused ultrasound thermal ablation and nanoparticulate stimulator of interferon genes agonism to treat melanoma. They then used ultrasensitive single-molecule arrays to detect proinflammatory biomarkers in the femtomolar range. This research provides valuable insights into monitoring melanoma responses to combination immunoablative therapy.
