- Abstract
This article discusses the use of the 694 nm Q-switched ruby (QSR) laser for depigmentation therapy in a child with vitiligo universalis. Vitiligo universalis is an extensive form of vitiligo that affects a large percentage of the body surface area. The child had previously tried various treatments without success, and depigmentation therapy was considered for the exposed areas of the body. The QSR laser was used in multiple sessions, resulting in significant depigmentation. The authors suggest that the QSR laser can be a feasible treatment option for pediatric vitiligo universalis, but further studies are needed to determine its efficacy and combination with other treatments.
