- Abstract
The article discusses a case study of practicing engineers' views on university mathematics and mathematics education to help improve the curriculum for the mathematics instruction of engineering students. The engineers responded to questions about their perception of the role of mathematics in their practice and analytical thinking in engineering, among other topics. The respondents suggested focusing on representing the key features of a real phenomenon in mathematics instruction.
