- Abstract
The article describes the cases of two older patients with C1/2 canal stenosis who underwent surgery using a new technique for achieving single-segment bone grafting, decompression, and fusion. It mentions the first patient's irreducible axis odontoid fracture secondary to trauma, the second patient's retro-odontoid pseudotumor. It also discusses the surgical procedure which include the exposure of C1/2 and use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and/or a computed tomography (CT) myelogram.
