- Abstract
Does the method of some contemporaries to distort Sharia in the name of interest have anything to do with the theory of al-Tawfi and others? In fact, there are fundamental differences between the statement of Al-Toufi and those of the contemporary who relied on him: Al-Toufi’s view of interests depends on the legal balance in defining and determining interest. Interests pervade what will benefit people in this world and the hereafter, and they are inclusive of that which contains the preservation of the religion and the world, and includes all the principles and rulings brought about by the Sharia. This is a picture of the interests of Al-Toufi and other scholars. But the scene changes completely with the pretenders to the Tufi; Their interests are purely worldly interests only, and do not see any regard for eschatological interests mentioned. They hardly understand something called the interest of religion; Because religion is an individual subjective affair that has nothing to do with the system, and they deny many of the legal rulings and do not see in it any interest because it contradicts the prevailing secular culture, and then the term interest is agreed upon between the two parties, but its meaning differs radically between those who start from an Islamic concept of interest and those who proceed from the concept of Secular to it, and then you will find that Al-Toufi and others see that jihad, killing the apostate and preventing forbidden things is one of the greatest interests because it preserves the interest of the religion, which is a disturbing thing for many contemporaries because they see them as rulings that contradict the interest.
