- Abstract
Urban transformation applications are works that every country needs. Resolving the current problems of the cities and trying to adapt them to the conditions of the current day, makes urban transformation a major urban intervention method. Methods and dimensions about urban transformation show differences from country to country and even from city to city. Cultural, economic and physical changes that took place with urban transformation are the issues that need to be carefully examined. Therefore, each country's own social, cultural and economic condition is shaping urban transformation. However, in these processes, actors who direct and implement urban transformation come to the fore. The practices of these actors determine how an urban transformation is introduced. In this study on the issue, the actors who perform urban transformation in Turkey are described with their works. The aim of this study is to present the data of urban renewal actors to researchers who is doing research on the urban transformation in Turkey. The aim of the study is not meant to criticize, support or interpretation; only it is to explain the work of the actors of urban transformation in Turkey. The actors involved in this study are the municipalities, people, the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, the President and the Mass Housing Administration. While compiling the numerical data of the activities of these actors, the websites of the relevant actors, the Official Gazette and the Prime Ministry Communication Center were utilized.
