- Abstract
In the past few years, discourses of war on obesity and functional foods have come to occupy a prominent place amidst the current multiplicity of practices concerned with the "problem" of food and eating. I suggest that, interestingly, both offer a serious challenge to nutritional science's moralizing approach to food in putting forth a rational rather than moral conception of the subject; a "truth" that, coupled with a relational notion of risk, tends to naturalize a relatively new strategy in the government of food practices: action on environments.
