- Abstract
The article discusses the value of positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) in prostate cancer imaging. It highlights the limitations of current PET scans and introduces the concept of a long axial-field-of-view (LAFOV) scan, which can generate high-resolution images and allow for whole-body dynamic imaging. The article also mentions the use of prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) ligands for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes in prostate cancer. The authors conducted a study using LAFOV [18F]PSMA-1007 PET/CT in prostate cancer patients and found that dynamic scanning captured tracer pharmacokinetics with high temporal resolution. LAFOV PET/CT technology has the potential to address unresolved clinical issues and offers opportunities for drug development and personalized medicine.
