- Abstract
The article focuses on the influence upon the quantitative aspects of the drawing by using the House-Tree-Person Technique (H-T-P). According to the methods of the H-T-P, a special size of paper must be used in order to obtain scorable drawings. The author of the H-T-P maintained that the quantitative scoring system would be conclusive only if it were used in combination with the standard form sheet or a sheet of its measurements. Other authors of projective drawing techniques also need a standard size of paper. An extensive review of the H-T-P research consequently failed to show data that promoted the significance of a specific size of drawing form. Therefore, this study investigated the consequences of varying the size of the drawing form on H-T-P IQ scores. Twenty-four white, male college students, who ranged in ages from 18 to 21 years, were administered the H-T-P test using four different sizes of drawing forms. The drawings thus obtained were scored according to procedures described in the H-T-P manual.
