- Abstract
The article presents several studies being done on income security, insurance and benefits in the U.S. as of October 1983. The economic effects of supplemental unemployment benefit plans on firm behavior is being studied by Peter Cappelli and Barry Nalebuff. The focus of the study by Nancy Hauserman is on the effects of pension, social security and other laws on people who choose to take full-time and part-time work and full-time homemaking. The health status and labor market activities of older men and women are the emphasis of the study being conducted by Thomas Chirikos and Gilbert Nestel.
