- Abstract
The article discusses the emergence of attacks and counter attacks by threat groups in Iraq and Syria which have raised the spectre of religious tension and violence worldwide. It mentions the power of Islamist rebel group Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) propaganda to militarise Sunni Muslim youth at an unprecedented scale especially its message and actions that suggest Muslim supremacy. It also notes the development of ISIS of a global network of groups that are willing to kill and die.
