- Abstract
The article discusses studies on the connection between itch and nausea. Topics discussed include study that suggests possible exploration of drug therapies for nausea as treatment for itch as several mediators and receptors were found to be common to both sensations, implication of opioid axis in itch and nausea conditions, and potential of bile acid receptor TGR5 mediating itch associated with cholestasis, and association of signalling via TGR5 with intestinal motility and inflammation.
