Congenital adrenal hyperplasia due to steroid 21-hydroxylase deficiency is the most common inborn error of the adrenal steroidogenesis and the most common cause of adrenal insufficiency in infants, children and adolescents. The goals of this review are to present basic information, define congenital adrenal hyperplasia, and to highlight actual knowledge in diagnosis and therapy.
