- Authors

- Abstract
Science, technology, and (especially their derived product) innovation are some of the most important factors for the economic and social development of a country. However, key aspects should also be considered for innovation to be possible; for instance, cooperation among actors in the innovation system, available qualified human talent, public policies, corporate development, and public-private partnerships. Nevertheless, as a result of multiple combinations of variables, innovation occurrence is difficult to improve, study, and predict. Therefore, the main objective of this work is to describe and compare the state of innovation in different countries in Latin America. For that purpose, the main concepts in this field are defined, and structured secondary sources of information in academic databases and primary sources were reviewed. Moreover, data from those sources were analyzed considering the most relevant variables.
