- Abstract
The article describes the key features of the viscous vortex particle method (VVPM) with a focus on the advances in the implementation aspects that have enabled the execution of graphics processing unit (GPU)-accelerated simulations at substantially reduced total run times. Topics covered include the governing equation for the evolution of vorticity expressed in the Lagrangian framework, and approximation of the diffusion operator using the particle strength exchange method.
