- Abstract
The paper considers the production of meat products in Ukraine and in the world. It analyses the influence of the world market of meat products on the domestic market. The concept of the world price was introduced for a particular type of meat as a weighted average price of 20 leading world exporters of the products. To assess the stability of this index likewise the concept of prices dispersion was introduced for a given type of product. The trends of the Ukrainian and world market of meat products were described. With the exponential trend model average annual growth rate of prices and production were estimated. It is shown that in the nearest future world production of chicken will exceed pork production. A comparison of global and domestic prices of such headings as pork, chicken and beef were made. It is shown that the prices differences in the international and domestic markets for beef stored, at the same time, the level of domestic prices of pork has reached the level of world market prices, for poultry the domestic prices are higher than world prices. Based on a comparison of price levels of international and domestic market is deemed to be amendments to the tariff import regulation of meat products.
