- Abstract
The objective was to compare the C and N stocks of a Ferralsol under Semideciduous Forest (NF), conventional pasture (P) and integration livestock-forestry system (ILF). Soil sampling was taken 5 years of the deployment of production systems. It was collected in sublayers up to 100 cm of deep. The ILF soil had the lowest C stock in the 0 to 30 cm, being 39% less than in the NF soil and 23% less than in the P soil. With 3.2 Mg N ha-1, the ILF soil showed the lowest N stock in the 0 to 30 cm than P soil and NF soil, where N stock was 4.7 Mg N ha-1. In the 0 to 100 cm, there were no differences between the systems for soil C stocks, but the N stock was lower in the ILF system, with 9.2 Mg ha-1 in ILF. Improvements must be implemented to ILF and P to recover C and N stocks, increase productivity, including the replacement of nutrients, especially N, adequate pasture management, and better silvicultural practices in the ILP to reduce the degree of shading; contributing not only to the sustainability of production systems, but also to the control of climate change.
