- Abstract
The article discusses metallophytes, heavy-metal tolerant plants which are beneficial in balancing ecosystems. Properties of metallophytes like reduction of toxicity in soil, bioremediation, metal hyperaccumulation, and restoration in mining sites are mentioned. Concern is also raised on the extinction of its species for which utilization, restoration, and research are recommended.
