- Abstract
Diabetic neuropathy (DN) is a chronic complication of diabetes mellitus affecting about 50% of patients. Its symptoms include decreased motility and sever pain in peripheral parts. It is a late finding in type 1 diabetes, but can be an early finding in type 2 diabetes. Diabetic neuropathy is one of the Diabetic complications with damaged to the largest nervous (sciatic nerves) of the body here in this topic role of herbals for complications of nervous system in diabetes is discussed as a new therapeutic horizon. All the conventional therapies for the diabetic neuropathy with neurodegeneration do have disadvantages from the point of view of efficacy and side effects. Since last few descades herbals getting more attraction in complications of diabetes, further more studies are going on herbals for neuroprotection in diabetes. In the treatment of diabetic neuropathy (DN) herbals and phytoconstituents were proved, better options, because excellent efficacy and cost effectiveness compared to conventional treatment. The medicinal plants, besides having natural therapeutic values against various considerable works have been done on these plants to treat Diabetic neuropathy. The aim of present study is to discuss the role of medicinal plants in the treatment of Diabetic Neuropathy(DN).
