- Abstract
The article explores the relationship between Legal Medicine and Otorhinolaryngology (ear, nose, and throat medicine) in various areas of law. Legal Medicine applies medical knowledge to the interests of the law, and Forensic Medicine, a branch of Legal Medicine, provides expertise in medical matters to assist judicial authorities. In cases involving otorhinolaryngological issues, a Forensic Medicine expert with knowledge of otorhinolaryngology is necessary. This relationship is evident in Criminal Law, where otorhinolaryngological injuries are assessed by Forensic Medicine specialists, as well as in Civil Law, where otorhinolaryngological knowledge is required for cases involving medical malpractice. Additionally, in Labor and Social Security Law, the intersection between Forensic Medicine and Otorhinolaryngology is common in assessing work-related injuries and disabilities. The article emphasizes the importance of competent and impartial medical expertise in assisting the justice system.
