- Abstract
It is important for clinical practice of the multidisciplinary team that develops and prescribes assistive technology to consider user's perception about the device and the factors that contribute to its use. Aiming at identifying and knowing about the instruments for the user evaluation of satisfaction of assistive technology, it was carried out a literature review of articles published between January 2005 and April 2009. It was used the international databases Pubmed, Scielo and Lilacs, using the descriptors assistive technology, self-help devices, patient satisfaction and user satisfaction. 56 articles were found, 29 were included and the remainder did not satisfy the requirements of the study. The results found different instruments to evaluate the user's satisfaction of assistive technology, standardized or non-standardized, but the instruments found are not valid for the Brazilian language and culture. We concluded that knowing user's satisfaction with assistive technology is important to optimize its use and prevent abandonment.
