Objective. To study the association of food insecurity with changes in diet perceived during lockdown by Covid-19 in Mexico. Materials and methods. The level of food insecurity was identified using the Latin American and Caribbean Scale of Food Security in 9 933 households of the 2020 National Health and Nutrition Survey Covid-19. Households that reported reduced spending on food and with severe food insecurity showed a greater probability of having negative changes (0.43, 95%CI: 0.40-0.46). Conclusions. Severe food insecurity is associate with negative food changes during lockdown by Covid-19, in households with reduced spending on food in Mexico.
