- Abstract
In order to reduce the fiber loss in the spinning process and improve the quality of corespun yarn containing a metal wire, a new vortex spinning nozzle for reducing fiber loss with air suction spindle was designed. The manufacturing process of its main components and the principle of reducing fiber loss are described. The effects of axial spacing of suction holes and number of columns of suction holes on the fiber loss and yarn breaking tenacity were studied experimentally. The results show that setting suction holes on the wall of the yarn passage through the spindle is conducive to reducing fiber loss and improving yarn breaking tenacity. When the spacing of suction holes is reduced from 2 mm to 1 mm, both fiber loss and yarn tenacity are significantly reduced. When the number of columns of suction holes is increased, from 2 to 4, the fiber loss and yarn breaking tenacity are significantly reduced y while when the number of columns is increased from 3 to 4, the change of yarn breaking tenacity is not obvious. This study confirms the feasibility of setting suction holes on the wall of the yarn passage through the spindle to reduce fiber loss in vortex spinning and improve yarn quality, and it also provides a new idea for the improvement and development of vortex spinning nozzle.
