- Abstract
In order to explore a new method to characterize the variation law of fabric air permeability, the actual air permeability of 16 fabrics was measured and the isokinetic equivalent diameter dh and flow equivalent diameter dL were calculated according to Hagen-Poiseuille law. Seven different mathematical models were analyzed and compared by using MatLab software, according SSE, R-square, Adjust R-square, and RMSE to evaluate the different fitting effects. Finally, Fourier series function was selected as the best fitting scheme, and the mathematical model between fabric structure parameters and air permeability was established. Moreover, according to the structure parameters of six kinds of cotton fabrics, the air permeability was predicted and analyzed by the model. The model shows that the correlation coefficient between the estimated and measured air permeability is 0.982 5, the prediction error range is 2.60%-11.21%, and the average error is 7.06%. The Fourier series model can predict the air permeability of different fabrics to a large extent.
