- Authors
POSNER, MICHAEL
- Abstract
The article presents an examination into the work of playwright William Shakespeare and explores issues surrounding the authorship of his work. It discusses the work of the Shakespeare Authorship Trust that, since 1922, has sought to uncover the mysteries surrounding Shakespeare. Similarly, British actors Derek Jacobi and Mark Rylance have formed an online petition questioning the authorship of Shakespeare's body of work. The work explores some of the leading theories proposed and supported by the Shakespeare Authorship Trust and raises new questions as well.
