- Abstract
The article discusses the developments in vaccines against Orienta tsutsugamushi or scrub typhus. It states that the earliest attempt on scrub typhus vaccine was in World War II in Great Britain which involves the use of cotton rats though its utility has not been determined. It mentions developments of scrub typhus in 2010, which focuses on certain proteins which are major surface antigens of Orienta tsutsugamushi. It also mentions future considerations in vaccine development including immunodominant protein combinations, vaccine candidates with the highest cellular and humoral responses and newer adjuvant vaccine combinations.
