- Abstract
The article discusses the molecular characterization of high-level fluoroquinolone resistance in a Haemophilus parainfluenzae isolate. Haemophilus parainfluenzae causes respiratory tract infections and is frequently linked to genitourinary tract. In a case study, a patient with chronic prostatis developed a heavy growth of Haemophilus parainfluenzae. Researchers found that the susceptibility between clinafloxacin and other quinolones could be caused by increased activity of quinolone against Haemophilus parainfluenzae.
