- Abstract
The article discusses the Indians in the plural society of post-independence Trinidad & Tobago. It explores the evolution and meanings of the Indo-centric narrative, narrative of the national past that emerges, from different ethnic, class or regional groups. It also examines the place of the so called Indo-centric narrative in the lural society of Trinidad & Tobago where history is often a site of contestation.
