- Abstract
A literary criticism is presented of the medieval book "The Book of the City of Ladies," by Christine de Pizan. Particular focus is given to the depiction of the legend of the Christian woman, virgin martyr and transvestite nun Saint (St.) Marina, including the parenting of St. Marina and St. Marina's status as a virgin mother.
