- Abstract
The article narrates the dramatic events of 1833 at Sandy Point plantation and provides some of the demographic context that might explain such events. It presents an overview of slavery in the Bahamas as well as the impact of the American Revolution on the area's population. It discusses slave demographics on San Salvador and explores their implications for the social and community structure of specific plantations. The article also examines the Prince Storr murder trial which provides information on slave life at Sandy Point.
