- Abstract
The article attempts to investigate on the possible motion picture sound effect studies in the future. It mentions the essay "Lowering the Boom: Critical Essays on Film Sound" that depicts the historical background, origin, and theories of the motion pictures' sound effects. In addition, the said essay was used by sounds scholars for film sounds research and academic studies. It highlights the sound professionals who have studied various theories of sounds for different motion pictures including Mark Kerin, Jennifer Fleeger, Gilles Deleuze, Danijela Kulezic-Wilson, and Gregg Redner.
