- Abstract
The article discusses the study which provides an overview of youth experiences and perceptions of crime in the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Municipality (NMMM) in the Eastern Cape in South Africa. The study is conducted by the Institute for Security Studies as part of a broader project to develop a crime prevention strategy for NMMM to ensure children's rights and opportunities to develop their full potential. In addition, it describes the common people who are involved in the commission of crime against the children including the family and friends as well as drug related offences.
